Initial Practice Setup
Starting a practice? The administrative foundation — identifiers, enrollments, systems and fee schedules — set up in the right order, before your first patient is billed.
New practices rarely fail on medicine; they stumble on administration. Claims cannot be paid until identifiers exist, enrollments are effective and systems are connected — and each of those has its own timeline. Elite Bill Care's initial practice setup service sequences the whole foundation for new U.S. practices, so the first claim you ever submit already has everything behind it that a payer requires.

The setup sequence
- Identifiers — organizational NPI (Type 2) for the practice and Type 1 NPIs for providers, matched to your legal entity and tax ID records.
- Licensing — state licenses and registrations verified or filed through our licensing services.
- CAQH and credentialing — profiles built and payer credentialing started immediately, because it is the longest pole in the tent (see credentialing & enrollment).
- Payer enrollment and contracts — Medicare, Medicaid and commercial plans, with effective dates tracked before you rely on them.
- Electronic connections — clearinghouse account, EDI, ERA and EFT enrollments.
- Systems — EHR and practice-management selection and configuration (see our software pages), charge masters and fee schedules loaded.
- Billing operations from day one — eligibility, charge entry, submission and follow-up running as a single revenue cycle from your first patient.
Order matters
Each step depends on the ones before it: no credentialing without licenses and NPIs, no EDI without enrollment, no paid claims without all three. Starting them in parallel — on day one, not when the doors open — is the difference between a practice that bills from its first week and one that discovers a missing enrollment through its first month of denials.
Frequently asked questions
How early should setup start before opening?
As early as possible — credentialing and enrollment timelines are set by payers, not by us, and they are the usual reason new practices open before they can bill in-network. In your consultation we will map the sequence against your opening date honestly.
Can you help if we have already opened?
Yes. Many clients come to us mid-launch with partial setup; we audit what exists, complete what is missing, and fix what was filed incorrectly — the sequence above becomes a gap list.
Do you choose our EHR for us?
We advise based on your specialty and budget and configure the systems we work in daily — the platforms on our software pages — but the contract is yours and the final choice stays with you.
Is legal or tax advice included?
No. Entity formation and tax structure are for your attorney and CPA; we handle the healthcare-administrative layer that sits on top of them and coordinate with your advisors where needed.
