EFT Setup
Electronic Funds Transfer setup for payer payments — faster deposits, matched to your ERAs, with bank-change safeguards done properly.
Paper checks are the slowest way to be paid: mailed, deposited by hand, and hard to match to remittances. EFT setup registers your practice to receive payer payments by direct electronic deposit, paired with ERA so every deposit can be matched to its payment detail. Elite Bill Care completes EFT registrations as part of payer enrollment — carefully, because banking changes are exactly where payment fraud targets healthcare practices.

How EFT enrollment works
- Channel per payer — many payers enroll EFT through a central service (such as CAQH EnrollHub) or their provider portal; some use their own forms. We work payer by payer.
- Practice banking details — submitted only through the payer's official channel, verified against your practice records.
- Verification steps completed — payers commonly verify with a pre-note or small test transaction before live payments.
- Go-live confirmation — first electronic deposits confirmed and matched to their ERAs in payment posting.
Banking changes are a fraud target — treat them that way
Payment-diversion fraud in healthcare usually starts with a convincing request to "update banking details." Our discipline: banking information is changed only through official payer channels, never from an emailed request; changes are confirmed out-of-band with the practice; and ERA-to-deposit matching would expose a diversion quickly because the remittance and the money would stop agreeing. This caution is part of our wider data-security commitments.
Where EFT fits
EFT completes the electronic trio with EDI (claims out) and ERA (decisions back): money arrives electronically, its explanation arrives electronically, and reconciliation becomes a check instead of a research project — inside the full cycle on our medical billing services page.
Frequently asked questions
Do all payers offer EFT?
Most major payers do; some smaller plans still pay by check. We enroll every payer that offers it and keep the rest under normal posting discipline.
Will payments be interrupted during setup?
Enrollments are sequenced so existing payment methods continue until EFT is verified live for that payer.
Who at the practice must be involved?
An authorized practice representative must approve banking registrations — payers require it, and so do we. We prepare everything; the authorization stays yours.
