MEDITECH Billing Services
Complete medical billing run inside MEDITECH — claims, posting, denials and reporting — inside your existing system: you keep your software, your data and your workflows; we supply the billing team.
MEDITECH is the backbone system for many community hospitals, critical access hospitals and their affiliated clinics. Its current platform, MEDITECH Expanse, brings the clinical record and patient accounting together in one integrated system, so the same environment that holds the chart also holds the claim. If your organization runs on MEDITECH, Elite Bill Care provides full billing services inside your existing system — you keep your software, your data and your workflows; we supply the billing operation.
What we do inside MEDITECH
- Eligibility and authorizations — coverage checked ahead of visits and authorizations tracked through our eligibility verification and prior authorization workflows.
- Charge review and claim submission — charges reviewed before claims are released, with coding support and a daily claim submission rhythm.
- ERA/EOB posting and reconciliation — remittances posted and reconciled against deposits, adjustments verified (see payment posting).
- Denials and AR worked in-platform — denials appealed and aged accounts pursued inside the same system your staff uses (see denial management and AR management).
- Reporting — aging, collections and denial trends reported from your MEDITECH data (see reporting and analytics).
Platform-specific workflow
Because Expanse is a single integrated platform, billing work typically flows through the patient accounting routines built into the same system as registration and documentation. Hospital accounts and affiliated clinic accounts are often managed side by side, which suits the way community hospitals actually operate — one business office serving the facility and its employed or affiliated practices. We work within that structure: account worklists reviewed daily, claim issues resolved before release where possible, and follow-up documented on the account itself.
Claims typically transmit through the clearinghouse connections your organization already has in place, and remittances come back through the same channel for posting and reconciliation. Setups vary — multi-entity organizations often run several service locations under one build — so onboarding starts with mapping your entities, payers and worklists before the first claim is touched.
Smaller business offices feel backlogs faster, because the same few people often cover registration, billing and follow-up. Our role is to absorb the repetitive queue work — daily charge review, claim release, posting and follow-up — so your staff can spend their time on the exceptions that genuinely need local knowledge. Everything we do is documented on the account, in the system your office already opens every morning, with nothing held in a separate tool you cannot see.
No migration, no disruption
Onboarding is access and configuration, not a system change: named-user logins under our Business Associate Agreement, permissions limited to billing functions, and billing begins in the platform your team already knows. See the full operation on our medical billing services page, or the other platforms on our software page.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need to give you our MEDITECH login?
You create named-user access for our team inside your MEDITECH environment, with permissions limited to the billing functions we perform. That keeps every action attributable and auditable, and access is covered by our Business Associate Agreement. Your administrators control the scope of what we can see and do, and can change or revoke it at any time. We never ask for shared credentials or for anyone's personal login — named-user access is the standard, secure way to bring a billing partner into your system.
Can you clean up our existing AR in MEDITECH?
Yes. We start with an aged AR review inside your patient accounting system: accounts worked by age, payer and balance, recoverable balances pursued through follow-up and appeals, and genuinely uncollectible accounts identified for write-off under your policies. Because hospital and clinic accounts typically sit in the same MEDITECH build, we can clean both sides together and report the registration, charge or authorization patterns that created the backlog — so it does not quietly rebuild itself.
Can you bill for both our hospital and our clinics in MEDITECH?
Yes. Community hospitals commonly run the facility and their affiliated clinics on the same Expanse platform, and that is how we work too: hospital accounts and clinic accounts handled in one system, by one team, under one reporting rhythm. Charges, claims, payments and denials for both sides are visible in the same environment your business office already uses, which keeps small clinic balances from getting lost next to larger facility accounts.
