Epic Billing Services
Complete medical billing run inside Epic — claims, posting, denials and reporting — inside your existing system: you keep your software, your data and your workflows; we supply the billing team.
Epic is the system of record for many of the largest hospitals, academic medical centers and multi-specialty groups in the country. Its clinical application, EpicCare, feeds the billing side, where Resolute handles hospital and professional billing. If your organization runs on Epic, Elite Bill Care provides full Epic billing services inside your existing system — you keep your software, your data and your workflows; we supply the billing operation.
What we do inside Epic
- Eligibility and authorizations — coverage checked before visits and authorizations tracked against scheduled services, under our eligibility verification and prior authorization workflows.
- Charge review and claim submission — charges reviewed for coding accuracy before claims go out, with support from our coding support team and daily claim submission.
- ERA/EOB posting and reconciliation — remittances posted and matched to deposits, contractual adjustments verified line by line (see payment posting).
- Denials and AR worked in-platform — denials categorized, appealed and trended in Resolute, with aged accounts worked under our denial management and AR management processes.
- Reporting — collections, aging and denial trends reported from your own Epic data on a regular rhythm (see reporting and analytics).
Platform-specific workflow
Billing in Epic is queue-driven. Charges, claim edits and follow-up work typically sit in Resolute workqueues that route items to the right team — charge review queues, claim edit queues, follow-up and denial queues. Large organizations often split this work between hospital billing and professional billing teams, with centralized and departmental queues running side by side. We work inside that structure: assigned queues are cleared daily, charge and claim edits are resolved at their source rather than written around, and recurring edit patterns are reported back so the same failure stops repeating.
Because Epic environments are usually shared across an entire enterprise, discipline matters: payer builds, fee schedules and enrollment records are maintained by the organization, and a billing partner has to work within those standards instead of inventing local ones. Our team documents everything it touches in the system your managers already review.
Denial work follows the same queue logic. When a payer denies, the account typically returns to a follow-up or denial workqueue with the remittance attached, so the appeal is built from the original charge, the payer's response and the clinical documentation in one place. We trend denial reasons at the queue level, because a spike in one edit or denial category usually points to a build, enrollment or documentation issue upstream — and fixing that source is worth more than working the same denial a hundred times.
No migration, no disruption
Onboarding is access and configuration, not a system change: named-user logins under our Business Associate Agreement, permissions limited to billing functions, and billing begins in the platform your staff already knows. See the full operation on our medical billing services page, or the other platforms on our software page.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need to give you our Epic login?
You create named-user access for our team inside your Epic environment, with permissions limited to the billing functions we perform. That is the secure, auditable way to work: every action our team takes is recorded under its own user identity, and access sits under our Business Associate Agreement. We never need or want a shared or personal login, and your IT team can scope, review or revoke our access at any time.
Can you clean up our existing AR in Epic?
Yes. An aged AR review inside Resolute is a standard starting point: we work the follow-up and denial queues by age and balance, separate the recoverable accounts from the genuinely uncollectible ones, and report what we find — including the edit or workflow patterns that built the backlog. Cleanup runs inside your existing queues and standards, so your internal team sees exactly what was worked, what was recovered and what remains, without a parallel shadow system.
Can you work inside our existing Resolute workqueues?
Yes — that is how we prefer to work. Epic organizations typically route billing work through charge review, claim edit, follow-up and denial workqueues, split between hospital and professional billing. You assign the queues or account sets we own; we clear them on an agreed rhythm, resolve edits at their source, and document activity in the system. Queue ownership, escalation paths and reporting expectations are agreed during onboarding, before the first account is touched.
